OA week was filled with plenty of excitement and achievement as always. There were a total of 26 new Ordeals and 7 new Brotherhood members admitted to our lodge at the start of the week. For OA week attendance was about 40, but that did not put a halt on any pageant plans, merit badges, and the fun. Iswa seemed to be the chapter to beat during the week by winning the majority of the chapter competitions. As the week of competition, practice for the pageant, and merit badge classes dwindled down, many awaited the usual influx of additional brothers for Summer Fellowship. |

With the traditional pageant put on by Santee Lodge the Friday of Summer Fellowship nearing, the weather looked gloomy. It rained and thunder stormed with wonders about the pageant in mind. Of course, the rain and storms subsided for The Loneliest Rider, directed by none other than the Lodge Chief himself, Josh Hinson. As always the pageant kicked the weekend off the right way. Josh did a great job during the week and the pageant seemed flawless with plenty of excitement. |

Following the pageant it was time for ceremonies where 14 people took part in the Ordeal process and 4 took part in achieving their Brotherhood. The ceremonial team consisting of Josh Hinson, Cameron Rainey, Jay Carlson, and Patrick Nesbitt did a terrific job. Saturday arrived with many assisting around camp and taking care of small projects. Some of the most anticipated things were later that day; elections, ceremonies, and of course patches. The new Vigil flap was distributed, with each Vigil member being able to purchase three, considering they were not available to at the previous few Fellowships. Besides the patches, the talk of the evening was probably the attendance of the youth. The lodge barely made the requirement in order to conduct a business meeting or even in simpler terms the election. Be sure to spread the word and get the attendance up for Fall Fellowship! |

The newly voted officers for the upcoming year are as follows: Cameron Rainey, Lodge Chief; Matthew Sanders, Administrative Vice Chief; Matt Meldrum, Ceremonial Vice Chief; Sam McLellan, Secretary; Steven Lastauskas, Editor; Forrest Sarvis, Treasurer; Christopher Spivey, Assistant Secretary, and Thomas Yeager, Assistant Treasurer. The other new news of the weekend was Sam McLellan and Steve Deese being tapped out as Vigil honor candidates. For closing remarks, the newly renovated kitchen in the dining hall is extremely nice and the food this weekend was fantastic. Also be sure to congratulate the previous officers on a job well done. |
